When How Why

Why I feel this way when using expensive things?

Every time I buy something popular or expensive like a purse for example, I use it and I feel strange with it, like it does not fit me. I love trendy stuff and like to dress up, but when this happens, it makes me wonder why? My husband gave me a Coach purse for Valentine’s Day and every time I wear it I feel weird, like I’m getting unnecessary attention towards myself. It may sound crazy but that is how I feel.

you could have low self-esteem, but personally i know i dont like attention unless its warranted–for a good cause, not because i have something external that screams ‘expensive!’. if youre walking around with a clothing item/accessory that you feel “doesnt fit” you, then you should ask yourself why youre even carrying/wearing it at all. to me, a lot of so-called ‘fashion’ arent things a lot of people who wear them/buy them would actually find aesthetically pleasing, but within the context of society youre told to like it, wear it, be it. maybe you feel like you appear to be fitting into ‘the mold’ too much. theres a difference between low self-esteem and humility. a humble person doesnt tend to see the sense or need in $300 purses or gaudy fleeting fashion trends you have to keep up with. a humble person doesnt necessarily feel they dont deserve those things, just that they arent needed. just think about it a bit more and im sure youll find your own answer. :)
