How long can you live without water?

My grandmother in law is dying of old age, and has not had any food or water since Saturday morning. It is now Thursday night. She has been told she can not have food or water as she may choke, and I am worried about her suffering much longer.

oh I am sorry you are going through this also. They told us not to give my dad any more food and water either as he stopped swallowing. He stopped eating on Tuesday. It is difficult to understand but I understand that you cannot live much past 3 days without water. My prayers are with you and your family as you go through this difficult stage!
