Internet Reference How To

I need some reference about how to install or what I do need to install a cafe internet?

I know what kind of hardware and software I need to install it, I want to start with 4 stations and a server, all conected into a DSL modem. with a multi-function printer and a regular ink-injection printer to be shared. what do I need? switch? router? hub? how can I conected them? I need a diagram. The LAN protocole I want to use is a star diagram, can anybody help me?

You should get a broadband router, for example the linksys BEFSR41. goto linksys.com and you cand find it under their product list. basically what that is going to do for you is allow you to plug 4 devices into it and share the IP address of the DSL modem. looks like this:

dsl_modem —> broadband_router —> device 1
—> device 2
—> device 3
—> device 4

(note that device 2,3,4) should show up directly under device 1)

then all four machines can use the internet at the same time. Since you also want a couple of networked printers.. you will need to expand the 4 ports of the broadband router by adding a small switch.. probably get a 8 port switch,, the switch takes the place of one of the 4 devices in the above diagram and extends that 1 device port to 8 or 16 or however many ports the switch you buy has. If you have printers that do not have network connections built into them, you will need a network print server, linksys, dlink, and all those guys have those for sale as well. basically the printer usb or parrallel cable plugs into the network print server, and the network print server in turn plugs into the switch or broadband router..
