I’m a great writer that is trying to use his writing to make money?

I would start with shopping your material around to local publications or perhaps develop a web-site to showcase your material.

You could also start submitting your material to national publications and see what type of response you get.

If you don’t have any formal training as a writer, do some research on how best to build & submit your material to the industry as not following those standards may get you rejected outright.
