How do you add a live person to a website?

I know that there are companies that do this for a fee, but we have a very small business and have built our own website. I would like to add a person (family member) to our website, walking onto the website. I just don’t know if there is a specific program or how to do it. Thanks!

I don’t know that there’s a standard system for dropping in a new person. Those walk on things generally use a video, for home brewed jobs you can just shoot the person walking in, using a camcorder on a solid well lit background, make the web page have the same solid bg color. Pros shoot on green-screen bg allowing the video bg to be altered or masked out. Grabbing a snapshot from your video before the walk-in and edit it into the bg is a low budget solution, you would save a flasg .flv file and play it with a controller-less flash video player.
