Does technology hurt us more than it helps?

Technology has a huge impact on our lives. From cell phones to Instant Messaging to computers. It seems the world has gotten smaller as technology increases. But sometimes do you wonder if technology negatively affects our lives? Today we can text, IM, and send e-mails within a matter of seconds. But does computer communication strain people’s talking skills? Some bad things about technology include the exposure to pornography, violence, and other inappropriate material. Along with internet spamming and false media. Terrorist and extremist sites are also available for the public to view. Does this bother anyone, does it bother you? How would you feel if your kids were looking up ‘gang fights’ or ‘ku klux klan cross burning’. I would be a little worried myself. But in many ways it seems technology does good for the world, but on the other side, it really does not?

I think exposure is ultimately good- mostly because it’s kept in check by the vast amounts of people that can’t agree on what’s tolerable and what isn’t, and those that don’t care.
