How Second Life Works

How to make Second Life mmo game work?
I have uninstalled it to get the more advanced version. I got the more recent version and installed it. When I lounch SL now a message appears that announces me that SL crashed last time when used and invites me to write a report. Even if I write the report, even if I don’t, the program continues oppening, it anounces me that is switching to a different server and then stops just like that. How can I solve this and open the program successfully?
In the future, bear in mind that you don’t have to manually uninstall the old viewer in order to upload the new viewer. Every time I’ve uploaded the latest version of the viewer, it overrides and replaces the old version all on its own.
There could be any number of reasons why it’s not opening/connecting correctly. It might have something to do with the type of computer/OS you’re running, or the hardware you’re using, or the internet connection you have, or the firewall settings. It could also be any number of other things. What I’d suggest doing is reinstalling the program, just to be on the safe side, and if it’s still not working, check the Support section of the Second Life website as well as the Lindens’ blog just to be sure it’s not a recently-identified issue. Chances are, someone’s had this problem before and it’s already been addressed in some way; the Support section would have it, if so.
If you can’t find it there or otherwise can’t fix it, submit a ticket on the Support website. I can’t guarantee that the Lindens will reply quickly (or at all), since they’re notorious for having less-than-stellar response-times for Basic account holders… but it’ll at least bring the issue up to them if it is indeed a unique problem. A LOT of people have been complaining since the new viewer came out (and when Havok4 was introduced to the grid), so there should be some fixes in the works and upcoming viewer versions should (hopefully) be improved.
