How Others View Americans

By admin, February 3, 2010 4:11 am

Those of you in the UK and other Non-Americans – can you describe your stereotypical American?

And – have you ever actually traveled through the United States and met this stereotype, or are you basing your opinion on the representations presented by the media?

How do you think that Americans view your nationality?
Hey – so far only one idiot! I think he’s probably not well endowed, but there I go…stereotyping. Bad me. What a cranky man.

I look forward to more answers.

I have never been to u.s, but the people I have met (from various areas), were very nice, and I found them to be good people, just like you can find anywhere in the world. I think all places, have their traits… But, I also think that, representations in the media seem to make american people look openly shallow, and arrogant at times. But, I also think that it is because America is a big place, so of course there is more to prove to the rest of the world. I think this is a natural reaction. But ultimately, I do not like to think of anybody in this manner, because I think that is why we have so many problems in the world in the first place!!
