How do MONEY ORDERS work????

I have NEVER in my life sent nor received a MO, so I am kind of clueless about this. I was wondering that if I were sent a money order (around $25), would I have to show identification? Or, how am I supposed to prove that I AM the intended recipient? Or if I just to to a place where they cash money orders, do I just hand them the sheet and automatically get the cash? I am confused…

you show ID to pick up the cash. and the sender will send you by mail a receipt to track the M/O.
