Hello All,

I applied for B-1 Visa In India (Chennai) US Consulate.My Interview was on 20th october 2008. I got 221(g)(Administrative Process Pending ) Pink sheet and got a Case Number. Visa officer Informed me that I will get a call or email about my visa Staus And i can check my status online. He didnt ask any additional document or information to be produced.

I dont know the reason for this.My Name is very common Muslim Name. I just want to know how long it takes for this kind of case.

its almost 4 week but no reply from consulate.

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Call them with you case number and ask for an update on the progress – I think 4 weeks is reasonable waiting period. If they cannot help you or haven’t got any news yet, ask for the website address and procedure where to check it online.
Since you say you have a common name, cling to the case number as proof.
