Cable box and how to make a game system work with it.?

Cable box question… I have a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8300 HD/DVR cable box. There are inputs on the front to employ a device like a vcr or a game system. I have a PS2 that I would like to hook up. My question is what do I have to do to the cable box to get it to allow the signal from these inputs to come to the tv? I have searched my cable company’s site and no help. Any suggestions would help. Is there a channel on my cable box that allows it to come straight through these inputs?

are you sure those arent output holes? and if not there is often a input or game or some sort of a button on the controller
