How can a gay person develop his friendship with a straight guy?

I’m gay, and I’ve a good friend who is straight. He recently had a girlfriend and I find that I’ve spent less time with him. I want to develop my friendship with him further but I’m not sure how. I love him (it’s not sexual but platonic). You know, that sense of fraternity/comradeship and stuff…the thing is, he is very athletic, I’m very intellectual, so we dun have much in common apart from our Christian beliefs, experiences in living in several countries and activities like pool and table tennis. He is very sporty and likes soccer and tennis (which I’m not into).
How can I continue to develop my friendship with him?

its a typical thing for a guy to spend less time with his buddies and more time with a new girlfreind. Hopefully shes not the one that is purposely causing this because of you sexuall preferance. I would try to set up a date with him and his new girlfreind. Go out to a pool hall or something.
