XP – Made Files Private – now need to revoer them – ‘Access Denied’?

Hi, one my user profiles was set to ‘Keep files Private’ in XP Pro SP2 (workgroup, not domain). The windows installation has gone pear shaped. I am trying to get those users file/folders off the hard disk byconnecting it up as a slave. I can see the contents of the disk fine but get ‘Access Denied’ (as you would do) when trying to access that particualr user profiles.

as an administrator, under security, hit the advanced and take ownership.
