How Eyes Work For Children
How common are orphanages nowadays…?
I was on Service Canada doing the many aptitude tests to see where I could end up… in their eyes. haha
Anyways, I got my typical results of being in the medical field, or working with children. I adore children and used to volunteer at a Nursery School. With this all in mind I began thinking about where I would like to work, and my mind drifted to foster families and orphanages.
In case I couldn’t become a foster parent/family, I would love to work in a place like an orphanage. To help the children, and have them feel cared for and loved.
However, I haven’t heard news of anything around the subject of orphanages in quite a few years.
Have they been decreasing as systems like foster families have come into play, and/or just stopped running altogether? Or do I just not know where to look?
And I know there are orphanages running, and programs like Hope for the Nations in Romania. However, I meant to ask if they are still open in North America.
I’m older than dirt itself and I’ve been all over America and to many parts of Canada and I’ve never seen one. I do have friends who moved to Guatemala and built one for girls.
