story board of commercials?

am really interested in knowing how a story board of commercial is made…and i would really appreciate anyone who would tell me more about it like why is it necessary even. i mean in other words everything related to story boards

usually, the director of the ad haves a PPM ( a pre- production meeting) with the client and the agency where various things are discussed like the costumes, cast, abt the brand, the set, make-up,camera, lighting, the look and the feel of the ad, etc… a story – board eases the visualisation process. it gives u a shot breakdown of how each shot will be taken, cut-by-cut…this helps everyone to be on the same wavelength when you are shooting the commercial.it helps us, so that u do not miss out on anything…its always better to have all your shots ready as discussed in the PPM…saves a lot of time if u pre-plan everything
