How does the American Government work???

can someone please explain the American Government to me and how it works – also what is the major difference between Democrats and Republicans???????

There are three branches Executive Legislative and Judicial each struggling to gain more power but are restricted under checks and balances.
There are two main parties libral Democrates and consevative Republicans both of which can’t get anything done because the idea of having more House and Senate seats appeals them more then protecting and providing for the American citizens.
