Film How To Be
What economic model is used in the film Star Trek?
After watching the films and series, I always wondered, how do people live in that time?, apparently money is not needed but how do they were able to build such big machines and space ships?. Do the crew receive a salary or something like that?
Is it possible to apply that economic model to our current world?
Good job. You have noticed one of the serious flaws in that fictional series. OK. No money or currency or salaries. Everyone just gets free meals and drinks in ’10-Forward’. So an ensign can have the same steak dinner as the Captain – every night. Apparently, it’s all synthesized food and drink anyways LOL. (Which is impossible too). There are many flaws to that show – transporters? No. If you can take a person or material down to an atomic level and then reconstruct it, well, then you could theoretically take atoms and create a person or material also – not going to happen. Particle beam weapons? – also not really possible in the way they are depicted in sci-fi stuff like Star Trek and Star Wars.

Don’t get me wrong – believe me, I pretty much have seen all of the Star Trek stuff except for the latest movie. Pretty much know them by heart – actually, I DO know them by heart LOL. I like the sci-fi genre. I don’t even have to turn the volume up on the TV anymore. I already know the plot and dialogue.
