Looking very basic freeware desk calendar, a reminder?

I am looking for a basic desktop calendar / reminder. Everything I've seen has got all the bells and whistles or is only free for the first month. Ideally, I'd like something that I can download that show simple lines of text to date on my desk. for example, 10 September 09 birthday John 12 septiembre 09 Renew subscription anybody know where I can get a free download of something like this? Excellent, thanks – that was just what I was looking for
